EXPERT WITNESS ADVICE

The role of the expert witness is to assist the court in the administration of justice, by providing an opinion or factual information based on the expert’s competence in a subject, which is outside the knowledge, skill or experience of most people.

The primary duty of an expert is to the court. The expert owes a secondary duty to the body of knowledge and understanding to which they subscribe. The third duty of the expert is to the party, which has sought their advice. This implies that the expert should not be an advocate for any party.

PTT has been providing expert witness advice throughout Australia and overseas to the:

Supreme Court of Queensland
Planning and Environment Court of Queensland
Boards of Enquiry in New Zealand

PTT provides this advice for public and private clients on traffic engineering, transport planning and road safety matters.
